1. Select your funding
Choose what is your funding sources from the options below.
You are an affiliated applicant if: you are a student currently enrolled, or staff member employed at the University of Malta, HVL or ScienceView. You can apply for the grant if you are affiliated to city2scienc (please contact city2science to see if you are eligible). If you are an external applicant, then read what your options are.
Conditions for Institutional Grant
Grants open only to applicants affiliated with City2Science
Each partner institution of the SciCultureD project has a number of grants for student participation to the intensive course. The grant covers the cost of the course, travelling costs (up to a fixed cap of €275), accommodation and some daily allowances.
Funded participation to the SciCultureD Intensive Course is under the following conditions:
- You must be a student (undergraduate or postgraduate) or professional (educator, researcher, artist or entrepreneur).
- You must be affiliated with one of the following institutions:
- CLOSED: University of Malta
- CLOSED: HVL
- CLOASED city2science (you should be able to provide a proof of affiliation from city2science – (please contact city2science to see if you are eligible)
- CLOSED: Science View
- You must commit to attend the full length of the intensive course. See dates.
- You must organise a SciCultureD event after the course with other participants.
- You must apply through our website by filling in the application form and uploading your CV.
- Please note that we only accept fully completed applications.
Cancellation Policy
- Should participants cancel their attendance after confirming the purchase of flights, the participants must cover those expenses which would have already been issued for their attendance, such as flights, accommodation and catering.
- Should the participants residing in the host city, cancel their attendance within a time period of 6 weeks prior to the event, the participants must cover those expenses which would have already been issued for their attendance, such as accommodation and catering.
- In the event that force majeure occurs and the participant is unable to attend the event, the participant shall notify the organiser as soon as possible of the occurrence of a force majeure event in order to wave the obligation to cover the expenses which would have already been issued for his/her attendance. The participant would need to provide written proof if such an event occurs. In case of sickness, a medical certificate is required.
Who can apply?
CLOSED If you are a student (young researcher, Masters or PhD student) or educator within SciCultureD’s areas of interest, your involvement in our intensive transdisciplinary course can be supported by the ERASMUS+ Programme through the Erasmus+ Mobility Grant. This grant can cover the application fee for external applicants (hence not affiliated with the University of Malta, HVL, city2science, and ScienceView). Applications must be submitted through your organisation.
What is the Erasmus+ Mobility Grant?
The 2021-2027 Erasmus+, the EU’s programme for Education, Training, Youth, and Sport offers funding opportunities for all ages with a special focus on the professional development of educational staff and young people.
Your school/institution will need to apply to your country’s National Agency, who will also evaluate the proposal (your application to the SciCultureD intensive course). Your National Agency is also a very good point to start for more information before proceed and select our intensive course. Within your Erasmus+ mobility application you should have refer to training activities covering arts, science, science communication, entrepreneurship as well as design thinking or relevant.

How to Apply
Learn if your institution has already submitted a proposal to the last ERASMUS+ Mobility call. If the proposal was approved you might have the chance to use the funds and select our intensive course.
You need to discuss this with your institution and the person responsible for the proposal in order to decide if you want to follow our course in case your proposal is relevant to our objectives.
Then you have to contact your National Authority in order to inform them about your selection and if there are needed updates that you need officially to submit to them (usually there are not if your objectives are similar to SciCultureD Objectives).
If you have the agreement of your Institution and of the National Authority, you can apply for our course.

CLOSED Conditions
The SciCultureD Intensive Course Registration Fee will give you access to our Intensive Course if you are not affiliated with one of our partner institutions (University of Malta, HVL, city2science or Science View).
You will go through a selection process from the SciCultureD consortium and your acceptance will be communicated to you up to 6 weeks before the beginning of the course.
Payment should be done by
Fees
- Physical participation – covers attendance fee, and food expenses. Physical participants are in charge of their travel. 210€
- Online participation – covers attendance fee. 60€
How to apply
- Click on the button ‘Apply now’ above and fill in your details; Select the option ‘ Registration Fee’ under ‘Type of Application’;
- Fill this additional form provided by the University of Malta.
