CONNECT - the theme
The group show CONNECT – Communities for Change brings a wider range of original artworks from both Maltese and international creatives, reflecting on the essential need for active communities, their connections and the emerging potential for social transformation. Curated by Hans Mark Svedal, Head of Programme at the Faculty of Education, Arts and Sports at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with the University of Malta, this exhibit invites everyone to explore diverse artistic expressions and engage with pressing social and environmental issues.
Art has the unique ability to challenge perspectives, helping us to approach complex problems differently from fresh, vigilant angles. In line with the concluding Erasmus+ project SciCultureD, CONNECT brings together individuals from various backgrounds and seeks to cultivate inclusivity and sustainability, fostering critical thinking and dialogue about our shared environment and the collective puzzle of history.

The exhibit, curated by the Department of Arts Education at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and the University of Malta, will bring forward artworks in the context of local communities, with the expressed aim to encourage reflection on European society and its environment to instigate critical thinking and dialogue.
To achieve this, the SciCultureD project will support a wider community of professional and up-and-coming artists, of different ages, cultural backgrounds and choices of expression. The team will provide organizational support and provision of materials up to an agreed amount.
